The 40 card Spanish pack is used to play Truco - the rules are differ from those used in Argentina in that at the start of each deal a card is turned up and the caballo (11) and sota (10) of that suit become the highest cards in the game - called perico and perica and worth 30 and 29 points respectively in the envido.
