Generic on-line card game programs

Tabletopia is a digital board game table which also supports card games. There is a general purpose card table with standard cards and chips and there are plans to provide support for specific card games.

Playingcards.io is a free online playing-card server providing a play area and cards. It does not enforce any rules or automate any part of the game other than shuffling. Cards can be moved around, stacked, flipped and placed in player's private hands. The cards are a standard 52-card pack: the deck can be customised by stripping unused cards and/or adding jokers or extra copies of some or all cards for games that use multiple decks.

Nosferatu has written a Tarot / Tarock module for the free format Vassal Game Engine. This enables any card game using a 78-card French suited Tarot or Tarock deck to be played over the Internet.

Within the Ataraxia project at sourceforge, a group of programmers were working on a Card Games Framework, which aimed to provide a generic on-line card game engine that could be customised to play a range of card games over a network. There seems to have been no activity on this since 2003, but presumably it could be revived if enough people were interested.

• On his Компания DiD website, Dmitry Izaak offers online versions of some 65 card games for Windows or Androis that can be played against any combination os AI and human opponents.
